Kirtlington & the Budgetts
Charlie and Lucy live on the family farm where Charlie grew up, along with their three young children Daisy, Isabella and Freddie. Having recently taken over the running of the farm, they are working to continue the diversification instigated by Charlie’s parents, James and Roo.
Alongside agriculture, horses are a big feature of the farm which is home to Kirtlington Park Polo Club, started by Charlie’s Great Grandfather, Hugh Budgett, in 1926. In more recent years, Charlie has restarted a stud breeding flat race horses on the same land where his Grandfather, Arthur Budgett, bred horses in the 50s and 60s, including two Derby winners. There are now also offices in old farm buildings and a vet practice on site too.
The Mirror Houses are located in woodland in a quiet area of the farm next to a lake designed by Capability Brown in the early 1750s. With their mirrored exteriors reflecting the trees and nature around them, they blend into the woods allowing guests to experience this wonderful, peaceful spot in a very different way.
Kirtlington UK site rules:
No driving fast (above 15mph) whilst on Park Farm.
No swimming in the lake.
No children under 16 – only babies in arms.
No smoking inside the houses.
No loud music.
No naked flames other than BBQ inside or outside the houses.
We had the most amazing experience! Every detail was considered and there was nothing missing or required to make this trip more special. We loved that we had the tools to create our own sanctuary, while being undisturbed so we would enjoy the surroundings. A peace of heaven! Thank you so much to Lucy & family for creating such a gem.

I had a lovely stay here. The host, Lucy, was so helpful and had amazing communication with me throughout. She very kindly accommodated my early check-in and had the place all ready ahead of time. You won’t be disappointed by your stay here - it was everything I wanted, the peace and privacy were perfect for my stay. The hot-tub was clean and heated ready for my arrival and the little touches in the accommodation and prep that goes into everything both inside and out was much appreciated too. Would absolutely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

I had the most wonderful time staying at The Mirror Houses in Kirtlington. Lucy and her family were really proactive and friendly. They gave me loads of suggestions for activities and recommended establishments in the area. Accessing the farm and the houses was very straightforward and easy as there had been signs up as well as the instructions given to me from Lucy, prior to my stay. The grounds itself were stunning, we saw deer and foxes on our first day! Frogs, swans, horses and so much more it was magical! Lastly, the mirror houses were well kept, private and an absolute treat to stay in. Waking up in the morning to watch the birds and trees was amazing and the hot tub was blissful. I would massively recommend coming to stay here, as it gives you a true experience of staying in real English countryside. Thank you Lucy and family, we will be back!
